DRIVER: Recoveree Transportation Coordinator/ Support Staff needed for Lib House, our inpatient residential program for men in Stamford, CT.

Job Purpose/Function: The Driver is responsible for coordinating and providing transportation services for staff and clients in a safe, customer-friendly manner. Driver is also responsible for ensuring agency vehicles are maintained in accordance with regulatory standards. This role also functions as a Recovery Support Staff.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Transportation

  • Transport clients and staff to and from various destinations in a safe and timely manner
  • Transport program and agency supplies including mail and documents between agency programs

2. Safety

  • Assure the maintenance and service of assigned vehicle is completed as expected
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards
  • Ensure vehicle is equipped with safety equipment
  • Inform maintenance and supervisory staff of potential safety issues or hazards
  • Be aware of universal precautions

3. Customer Service

  • Assists in creating a friendly, welcoming environment
  • Maintains a safe environment for employees, visitors and clients
  • Assume responsibility for all other activities as assigned by the Operations Manager

4. Recoveree Support Staff

  • Ensure emotional support and safety of the clients
  • Conduct and document facility protocols
  • Monitor client meals and medication schedules
  • Smooth shift transition by providing proper documentation of previous shift
  • Maintain open line of communication with Clinical Supervisors and Program Director
  • Conflict resolution, de-escalation & crisis intervention


  • Previous experience working within a behavioral health residential setting
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License, and professional driving experience
  • Crisis Management training and experience
  • Strong oral and presentation skills in order to properly represent the agency when in the community
